I think it would be a great idea to put directions on how to load material onto the frame for first time users. Just an idea...

Just wondering, I am new to all of this and am excited to being. I have ordered the master kit since my husband and I have a busy schedule. I am wondering about the grace speed controller, I just purchased a husqvarna designer 1 ess. Do I need one? And what exactly does it do?

The Grace Speed Control actually takes the place of a foot control so that you can turn the machine off and on by hand and also set the speed of the machine. I don't know if you will need one with that machine or if it is even compatible. It is not listed in the compatibility chart at the Grace web site. I would think you could set the speed and turn the machine on and off at the machine, but I am not sure.

Hello Richard, i downloaded the plans this morning, have them printed out. Now i just need to gather the supplies needed to assemble my new toy. I am super excited about getting the plans to build my own frame, opposed to spending hundreds on a name brand one. Thank you for offering this to the consumer. Will send you a picture when i get it finished.

It can be stored in as little as a 24" X 5" X 10' long space along the wall. Depending on how long of a frame you build. If you attach the support arms to the frame with wing nuts and carriage bolts instead of the screws it can be real easy and quick to tare down for storage. Have your husband contact me with any questions he may have. Thanks! Richard

Hi Richard, I do StarQuilts and do NOT like the quilting part without a Frame! I was trying to figure out how to make a Frame&Carrage BUT you do take the quess work away. So I will be buying a Kit from you. HOWEVER, I just have different enexpensive sewing machines and I have seen the GraceSpeedControl but dont have one. THERE COULDNT BE A UNIVERSAL CONTROL, RIGHT? I will do some research. thank you again.

Linda: I don't know how the true stitch regulator could be adapted to this frame. I really don't think it would work to be honest with you. To answer the second part of your question what I recommend for this setup is the Grace Speed Control. It attaches to the handle with velcro in the front or back and allows all control of the machine by hand.

Can you use rules to do your designs on your quilt using this frame?

I wonder if anyone has used couplers to length their pipes from 10 feet to 12? Home Depot was nice enough to cut the pipes into 2 feet lengths and thread them...so I couple use a 1 1/4 coupler--I was just wondering if this would issues since their would be a bulge where they join. I could either space every other end or line the bugles up?

I have never heard of them being able to thread 1 1/4" EMT Thinwall Conduit? Are you sure you didn't get 1 1/4" Rigid Conduit by mistake? Check to see if you did because your gears won't fit Rigid Conduit.

Oh dear, I bought galvanized pipe not conduit;( I will return it and buy the galvanized conduit. I am recycling old bed rails will that work with the wheels.

The rails in the plans are 3/4" if the bed rails are higher then that you may need to make your support arm brackets that much higher so that your sewing machine is at the correct level with your quilt.
